Who We Are

Studio Den Den is a multidisciplinary design studio working across architecture, interiors, furniture, and objects. Rooted in sustainability, our work blends high-performance design with material sensitivity, craft, and a deep consideration for how things are made.

Whatever you're building, we're here to help you take the first step with confidence.

J.R. Coffin, AIA, LEED AP CPHD, CPHB, NCARB

Principal Architect

J.R. Coffin received her architectural training at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she graduated with honors earning both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Architecture. Before co-founding Studio Den Den, she worked on a range of residential and mixed-use projects in Boston and New York, including Winthrop Tower — the world’s largest Passive House office building.

As Principal Architect of Studio Den Den, J.R. has helped expand the practice from Brooklyn into a true multidisciplinary studio with projects spanning New York, Boston, Rhode Island, Washington D.C., and beyond. Her work bridges architecture and interiors through a material-driven approach rooted in sustainability, and has been recognized through multiple art and design awards, including the Creative City Award from the New England Foundation for the Arts.
