Sustainability meets Material Warmth

We design architecture and interiors that balance sustainability, performance, and warmth — with careful attention to materials, construction, and the way people actually live.

Our Approach

We approach architecture as both a creative and technical discipline — balancing sustainability, material warmth, constructability, and the realities of everyday use from the earliest stages of design.

  • Every project begins by establishing the key parameters that shape the design: the site, budget, goals, constraints, and overall vision for the space.

We review how you want the project to function, identify opportunities and limitations early, and align the scope with the realities of construction, permitting, and budget. This creates a clear framework for design decisions moving forward and helps avoid costly revisions later in the process.

For renovations and existing buildings, this phase may also include site visits, measurements, zoning review, or feasibility studies.

  • We develop the overall vision of the project, including the layout, exterior appearance, spatial organization, and key architectural decisions.

Sustainability, material selection, and construction strategies are integrated into the design from the beginning to ensure the project is cohesive, durable, and practical to build. Plans, elevations, and 3D views are used to clearly communicate the design before moving into detailed coordination and documentation.

Budget, construction methods, and project goals are considered throughout the process to help keep the project aligned from the outset.

  • The approved design is refined and coordinated with structural systems, consultants, interior requirements, and key construction decisions.

Major dimensions, building systems, material selections, and technical requirements are established during this phase to prepare the project for permitting and detailed documentation.

We coordinate closely with engineers, fabricators, and contractors where required to help reduce conflicts during construction.

  • We prepare the drawing set and technical information required for permitting, pricing, and construction.

This includes architectural drawings, wall sections, details, dimensions, material specifications, and coordination with consultant drawings. The goal of this phase is to clearly define how the project will be built and reduce uncertainty during construction.

Particular attention is given to durability, energy performance, and construction quality.

  • During construction, we work with the contractor and consultant team to answer questions, review submittals, conduct site visits, and address conditions that arise in the field.

Our role during this phase is to help ensure the project is being built in accordance with the construction documents and overall design intent.

  • As construction is completed, we review the project with the contractor and client to identify any remaining work or corrections prior to final handover.

We assist with project closeout, final reviews, and coordination of outstanding items to help ensure the completed project meets the expectations established during the design process.
